| 🌅 DUST TUMBLES, OLD FARMLANDS SECTOR. You find yourself stumbling out a haze of noise and confusion, senses overwhelmed, while struggling to get the sting of smoke out of your eyes and the taste of electricity out of your mouth. When you're able to pull yourself together and take in your surroundings, you can tell, right off the bat, you're no longer home. You're in a lab of some sort, surrounded by machinery and devices for who-knows-what, and have just stepped off a large platform that's beginning to lose its hum of power and bright gold glow. A group of individuals - from humans to mechanoids to aliens - surround the platform and look at you with wide eyes or optics or orbs, dumbfounded by your presence amongst them. Someone whispers, "Fuck." and another coughs awkwardly into their hand. From an observation deck that oversees the unfolding chaos, a woman looks at you with a surprisingly sheepish look on her face. "Our bad, buddy." She turns to a man next to her and tells him to get the 'Screening Process' ready and another woman to get rooms for you set up soon as possible. "Within an hour, preferably. I don't want the transdimensional lag to kick in while they're out in the hallway or something. The last mess that guy made took forever for the drones to clean up." You can at least take some comfort that it seems they're used to this sort of thing... DUST TUMBLES is a small, invite-only game with an emphasis of choosing your own adventure in a world meant to be explored and interacted with. Characters are accidentally brought into Dust Tumbles (Old Farmlands Sector, U.S., the Nadir Cluster universe), after an interstellar defence organization known as NODICE makes bring individuals from other universes in thanks to their ongoing teleportation projection project. Characters are assured that they'll be brought back home but there is a catch: It'll take a year, at the very least, to figure out what happened and how to reverse engineer the process to send them to the moment they were taken away. Until then, the characters are asked to stay within the confines of Dust Tumbles and its Old Farmlands region. There's something happening in the background of this desert city but it's up to the characters to decide if they want to get involved or if they want to spend their year getting the peace and quiet they may desperately need.
